Koan is currently open to adults aged 18 and over.

This isn't about whether younger people can think carefully or engage honestly — they can, and we hope to welcome them in time. It's about us. We're still building, and we take our responsibility to everyone in this space seriously — particularly to younger people, who deserve more protection online than most platforms currently offer.

Several countries are now restricting social media access for people under 16 or 18 for good reasons. During this early phase, we're being cautious rather than sorry. When we're confident we can look after everyone properly, we'll open up further.
